Downhill Mountainbike Claim

My son had his Downhill Mountainbike out of the back of his locked Corsa Utility in December. He reported the at a police station and put in a claim with Alexander Forbes. Unbeknown to my son his girlfriend of that time had been instrumental in the. She subsequently sold it which she had no permission to do. The mountainbike was found after she had sold it to another party for R9000. The bike was valued by a specialized mountainbike shop at R40000. The case is still under investigation by the police and my son was found not to be involved. The insurance company are only prepared to pay me out R7000 to supposedly buy the bike back off the person who has it. It was never confiscated, why I don't know. Downhill is an extreme sport and apart from the fact the bike could have serious damage, it has also been modified. The fact is I want to be paid out for a bike. Alexander Forbes are trying to implicate my son in the so they don't have to pay out. The fact that the ex-girlfriend was involved is a separate case entirely and nothing to do with my claim. This is the second time they have rejected my claims. Seems they don't care about their clients.
