I have a Totalguard appliance insurance policy. My microwave oven timer was faulty. The technicians came out end of Jan to look at the microwave.

I called at the end of Feb and an agent told me that they received the quote and would approve the purchase of the parts on that day. I called back 2 days later to follow up and I was then told that my claim was not approved as the "repair agent" had said that it was "uneconomical to repair".

When I questioned it, they gave me the repair agents contact details. The tech stated that he just sent a report and a quote (on the 31st Jan) for the spare parts required and no further comments.

I called back and spoke to Alexia who told me the same thing. I argued with her and then she explained that it was actually the internal claims department that said it was uneconomical to repair. I asked for the the feedback in writing and she agreed to send.

I received nothing and called back a few days later (Alicia) and again asked for it in writing - she agreed. I called back again a week later (Alicia) and asked for it again - the 3rd time.

The claim was lodged in Jan, it is now 18th Mar and I still have not had formal feedback from Totalguard.
