I have been in contact with Standardbank in January 2013 to complain about two debit orders that has gone off my account without my knowledge. I was told a stop order was done on my account, which I am paying for, and the monies would be reversed. It still has not. Today I phoned again just to explain the whole story again just to be told that I need to speak to card division? Because it was on my cheque card? I was then transferred to them and I explained the entire story once again and after my whole rant was told to phone another number. This is absolutely ridiculous. I understand that it is my responsibility to make sure my account is kept correct. But this is not due to lack of trying from my part. No one at standardbank at any stage said don't worry I will get the correct person to phone you. I suppose this is what I country has come to. No service and a whole bunch of unhappy customers and a so what attitude. Thank you standardbank it will cost me more to get you to refund me the money than what the actual debit orders are worth!
