It has now been a month since I logged a complaint on Hello Peter about a claim that was not processed and to date I have not received feedback from Auto and General. I am appalled by the service received from the Auto and General Claims department. I reported a claim in 2012 (I think it was July) for damage on the LEFT side of my bumper and since the excess was more than R4000. I did not go through with the claim as a Panel beater quoted me approximately R800.00 to repair it which I budgeted to do in FEBRUARY 2013. As a result at the same time of reporting this claim I immediately changed my cover and took out the option where I would not have to pay any excess. It was in the unfortunate event that in DECEMBER 2012 I bumped my car which damaged the RIGHT wheel, hub cap, panel, and RIGHT SIDE OF THE BUMPER! Auto and General refused to process this claim due to the previous claim. I find this appalling considering that the damage was done to the other side of my bumper. I complained about this but nobody got back to me, i resorted to logging a complain on Hello peter but still i have not received feedback! I will definitely be cancelling my insurance.
