Budget Insurance
Budget trying to me on technicalities

My bakkie got broken into last night, they broke the window out, took the radio, my wallet, laptop and battery. The laptop being covered separately.

They will not cover the battery unless I pay excess for the body of the vehicle (R8k) as if it were in an accident. They will not pay for my laptop as it was in the cabin of the vehicle (even though it is covered for separately - as a separate item).

I am going to fight them on this (through the ombudsman) and hopefully start an online campaign strong enough to help others see what budget do actually cover. We were going to leave budget anyway at the end Feb as they there rates are just plain excessive anyway.

We hardly ever use our insurance, our ethics don't allow us to try and over claim etc when stuff goes wrong... and yet budget insurance is right there to remind us that no matter what happens we aren't really covered... not really.

I am properly off, especially when you make a point of insuring your valuables separately and then having your insurance you on technicalities - none of which were pointed out when signing with them
