FNB HANDS ME OVER FOR AN ACCOUNT FROM 1985

I received a sms from lawyers working on behalf of FNB on Monday 04 February 2013 referring to an account they claim was not paid since 1985. I paid up all my debt which includes this credit card in 2001 which is 13 years ago, and do not have copies of this payment after so many years. Because of this i cannot get finance for a car that I desperately need. This bank advertises, "how can we help you"... makes me wonder. I have taken the matter up with Wendy Knowler from consumer watch!
