Islamic Target Save - Emergency Withdrawal

I had an Islamic Target Save account with ABSA.

I was refused a withdrawal without proof like an invoice or demand of payment of some sorts. I did not have this proof with me at the time. I then asked to speak to the Manager (Marco Hendricks). I explained the problem to him and that I needed the cash asap. He declined to allow me to withdraw my own money from my account even though I threatened to close the account.

He did not care that I would cancel my Islamic Target Save account. He did not care that I wanted to speak to Action Line either. His attitude seemed to me like he just didn't care. He immediately took me to the consultant to cancel my account. I had to log my complaint in the banking hall in public whilst another lady was also discussing private financial issues right next to myself. ABSA should review their policy concerning emergency withdrawals as it breaches Customer Privacy. The Managers attitude reflects ABSAs attitude as his is an ABSA representative. Being a Customer Service Manager myself, I would never allow a Customer to cancel just like that. I would make the Customer feel like his/her business is important to my Company.
