My dads homeloan had fallen into arrears, he had a debt counsellor who seemed to be charging him month after month for every small thing, anyway his homeloan went into arrears. We filled in numerous forms for debt relief but continued be turned down. Evetually i had to sell of machines from my business to help assist him. Call centre agent told me that the value of the house was low and renovations needed to be done and thats why the assistance could not be offered. After paying 100k into the homeloan account i spent another 70k on the house itself. Thinking that the house would be re-evaluated after the payment i got a call that i had paid short and was in arrears again. If i knew that i would not of spent the 70k on the house. I explained that i was misiformed and could not at the time pay in any extra money. Bank continues to persist sale and we have received numerous calls from private people who have our personal details to buy the house. Complained to fnb they could not find a solution. Bank wants 180k i think i need to hit the lotto. How ironic is this a man i know owed 2.1mil on his home, through contacts at auction he bought it back for 220k. Basically ppl who wanna pay get.
