First National Bank
Shocking advocation of responsibility

Business & Finance

My cousin was yesterday locked out of her rented place. The landlady locked her out because rent had not been paid for the past two months, except the money was paid. Turns out the land lady's account was somehow linked to someone else's account and the money was transferred into the other lady's account. The other lady used the money and on my cousins statement, it's clear that she paid the money, however, it has not gone into the correct account. I don't know how it's possible to have two accounts linked to one account number. FNB was not helpful and told my cousin she would have to claim the money from the other party. This surely does not seem right. The fault with the bank who must rectify the matter. They have left my cousin to resolve this and the lady in question has used the money and has offered to make payments over a couple of months. The landlady is however not understanding and has kicked my cousin out of her place, locking her things-in. She is currently without a place and without her things, which I believe is also illegal. Surely this fault with the bank who must make means of getting the money back from the concerned party?
