Car, won't pay out for family ca

Yesterday (1 February 2013) I was contacted by Auto and General to say they refuse to pay out for my family car which is our only car and form of transport for my wife, daughter and grandson who live with me.

I wanted to drop my daughter's books at the library, but because it was shut I visited a friend in an industrial area nearby, where my car was within 5 minutes. I am 68 years old, unemployed and am desperate to try to find work by selling odd bits people want to get rid of. My wife maintained the insurance payments with her pension money which came out of my business named account.

Even though it's not a registered business as I don't really earn anything they feel because the company named account has a stop order for insurance payment that it must be a business car, even though it's registered in my name and is only for private use.

I do not know if I was being fobbed off, because it feels like they are pulling at any straw to not pay out, but I find it deeply distressing that my car used for family purposes is not going to be paid out for.
