I applied for a personal loan. Nolan Pienaar was the sales consultant who helped me. The experience from the beginning was unprofessional. The amount I required was above R50, 000.00 and I was told by Mr Pienaar that the people in Joburg aren't working on weekends and he shall call me the following Monday. On Monday I had to phone Mr Pienaar asking him what the progress is and he told me he will give them a ring at 11:00. He never phoned me back. I phoned Mr Pienaar for the second time asking what is going on, and I was told by the receptionist that he is busy and will call back. After two hours and still haven't heard from him, I gave him another call, and again I was told by the receptionist he is busy. I left a message, but it's clear that Mr Pienaar doesn't see my application as urgent and as a priority. Surely when you know a client has tried more than twice to phone, you would realise the importance to make contact. Four hours passed and still no word from Mr Pienaar. I called again, and was told he is busy. I had to cancel my loan application. He only had to take one minute out of his extremely busy schedule to phone me back. Absa has the detailed complaint letter with them.
