Card Cancelled w/o notice (deformation of char)

I am displeased with the matter that my credit card was cancelled and the new "Chip" enabled one was activated without communication of such. I have looked for the email/sms stating as much but could not find any. I did feel like an absolute in front of the retailer and the other customers that none of my (Discovery) credit cards where working. If it was not for the fact that I had a cheque card with me, I would have been unable to make payment. This is totally unacceptable and a deformation of my character in front of the public. I would want Discovery to investigate why I did not receive the relevant communication including a public apology if this is the case.

Furthermore, I did communicate with "Umani" (call center manager) that obviously did not understand why I am feeling so demeaned, I am sure most people would have felt this way. Please also speak to her around her attitude, remember the client comes first (oops, this is discovery, what was I thinking)

Is this the way Discovery handle their clients?
