Don't waste your time with a homeloan from ABSA

Dear ABSA, you are quite incompetent. In fact, you take top honours compared to other financial institutions. I'm an ABSA customer for more than 15 years. I gave ABSA the first option when I applied for a homeloan and basically a headstart of two day. After discussion with a homeloan consultant, we ensured that we have the complete set of supporting documents for the application. A week after submission, I still did not receive any feedback from ABSA and using the Online tracking is also not up to date. Meanwhile all the other financial institutions that I used gave me feedback with approval in principle within half the timeframe. When I eventually called the Home loan call centre I got informed that they still need additional info. Why couldn't they just pick up the phone and call the client to let him know sooner?

Very interesting is that the agent who sold us the house told us that he will not waste his time with ABSA because of their bad service when it comes to home loans, not even to mention most of our friends moved their home loans away from ABSA or closed their accounts purely based on the pathetic customer service and red tape when applying for a home loan.
