Personal Info being compromised

I received an email from Liz Botes License no. 9305 GIB Financial Services (Pty) Ltd forwarding me Id Copy and info regarding a Mr Prinsloo Michael Wilhelm of which I had nothing to do with. How is this possible? I am not a broker and do not work in a financial Institution. How can a big company like Sanlam affiliate with brokers like this. the reason for my concern is that I am an existing client of Sanlam and wonder if my information was given out like this. please explain. I demand an explanation to both myself and Mr Prinsloo.
