Given Credit Card

Received an SMS on the (9 Oct 2013 8:58am) to collect an Absa Card in Monument Park, to bring along ID, proof of residential address and Income, on receiving SMS I immediately phoned the branch, spoke to various people notifying them that I never applied for any cards and this is a as my ID was the beginning of this year, only to find out the following day receiving a welcoming SMS (10 Oct 2013 11:27am) on my Gold Credit Card which was given to the that made credit purchases to the value of R37 000.

How does one get approval on a credit card without having proof of current residential address or a recent payslip?

One would like to receive feedback or updates concerning this matter.
