R9433 DEDUCTED FROM ACCOUNT WITHOUT AUTHORISATION!

On the 22nd of October 2013 Standard Bank contacted me to advise me that there had been an error on a transaction which they were meant to process on the 26th of November 2012 (ALMOST 1 YEAR LATER!). They advised me that the sum of R9 433.45 had never been deducted from my account at the time of the original transaction and therefore they would now be deducted the funds from my account.

I specifically prohibited them from deducting the funds from my account. However, without any further notice or warning whatsoever, the bank proceeded to deduct the full amount which has now put me R6 634.54 in overdraft. The result is that I now have no money available to me. I therefore cannot cover my living expenses or even buy food.

I have contacted the bank and demanded that they reverse the transaction but they have refused to do so.
