Banking Services and loan approval

I recently had reason to ask my bank, FNB, for a loan to purchase a property, having banked with them since the 70's (as Barclays) I might add. To negotiate a better deal I kind of asked for a preapproved loan, which FNB through Avish, assisted me after they got a blood sample, my DNA, financials etc...

What was very nice, was that the whole loan process was properly & professionally communciated and managed. When my offer to purchase was accepted, the bank came through and the loan was finalised.
I took a bet with the estate agent (who owes my wife and I, an Italian dinner) that I will get a 90% loan. She jumped up and down (literally) and said it was impossible and that she will write the offer as an 80% bond.

Anyway the process from initiation to loan transfer payment and costs involved were clearly spelt out. This to me was the best as I did not end up with any surprises. What was very throughtful was that the bank came to me to get the docs signed, I did not have to run around.

So an orchid to Avish for his help, advice and professionlism and FNB Homeloans team for the money.
