I took out a bond with Standard bank 7 months ago, 90% of the bond was approved, I paid all other fees required by the banks policy. A month back i received notification from the bank that my bond instalments will be increased. After 6 months i was never advised of this, eventually contacted the bank and was told this was due to an extra payment being made to the transferring attorneys which i paid already so in a sense the attorneys received payment twice. Upon my bonds acceptance because of the percentage I knew that i was liable for all other cost. The attorneys were contacted and confirmed with the bank on email that they never received a double payment for transferring fees, etc. which was originally only paid by me. The bank states the reason for the increase is because of this payment, but if this can't be proved how can they increase my bank instalment. To date i have not received any feedback from the parties i have been dealing with and I hold a bond but this is the type of service i get.. One person can make you have a bad taste in your mouth over the whole institution.
