Legal Exec debits funds from my bank account

Legal Exec has now twice debited funds from my bank account. One on 18.06.2013 and one on 29.08.2013.
I want to know how they got hold of my account number. It surely is just to go about debiting bank accounts as they wish! Still waiting for them to refund me. When you phone them to complain they do not come back to you. I want them to refund me but also want to report them for doing this.
