I telephoned standard bank on 20th August after noticing a payment that I hadn't made had come off my account. I phoned the bank to tell them and asked if my wife's card had been copied and they said they didn't think so. They said they would reverse the payment. The next morning two further payments came off my account that again we did not recognise. I phoned Standard Bank again and was told they would cancel my wife's card. I was told a case had been opened. On 23rd August, another unrecognised payment for R2874 showed on my account. I tried for the whole day to contact the department, but just sat in a call queue each time getting disconnected. On 27th August, I went into the Centurion branch to see if somebody could sort out what was happening to my account. The girl I saw said no case had been opened. She phoned the department and they said they would contact me within 3-4 working days. I am still waiting on somebody contacting me and the money has still been debited from my account. This totals over R3, 000. I am very disappointed that I have to continually chase up the bank to sort this out.
