Absa
University fees by man inside the bank

Business & Finance

On 05/09/2013 I walked in to Absa at maponya mall to deposit money for my fees, as I was filling out my deposit slip I was approached by a man. The man later returned a short while later and asked if i was a student and what course I'm doing to which i answered him as it was harmless the man then asked if could speak to me when I was done to which I obliged. I proceeded to join the que at the tellers the man reappeared and asked if I could come with him, I thought the man might need assistance so I went with him. The man asked me if I could write down my details for him as he wanted to put me in the system at absa should any internship programs arise before I could start he asked if we could go to the office and I was led into the branch managers office, I took a seat and started to write. The man then left the office and asked if I could come with because he didn't want to leave me alone. When I got outside the man asked if he could deposit my money for me as to not waste my time believing that he was the manager and that I'm safe inside the bank I gave him everything and he walked to the security door and I finished up my details. Only to discover a few min later I've been robbed
