I moved to Australia 5 months ago. After battling with ABSA for a month to get MY money out of South Africa I hired a consultant to help speed up the process.

This is what he said about ABSA:
'None of the other banks give us this problem as their exchange control departments do this with the documents submitted with the reserve bank forms.'

After EVERY meeting they have different excuses why this processes it taking so long! Don't let me start with the phone calls...
They are rude, incompetent and not answering ANY of my questions. It's like talking to a brick wall.
