Repo/Insolvent house

Business & Finance

I placed an offer on the MyRoof website. It clearly states the house is a ABSA bank repossessed property. On the 6th of October my offer was accepted and on the 15th of October I paid my deposit (almost a fifth of the total purchase price). Then middle of November i'm told for the first time by the transfer attorney its not a repo but an insolvent estate, which is a whole different story. Now because of an error made by ABSA I couldnt cancel this deal without paying penalties. So I went ahead with the deal and signed at both ABSA assigned attorneys. I was then told I (who do not own the property yet needed to get a ECC cert for the house as it is needed and holding up the process, so I fork out another R7, 000.00 for the Cert and gave it to ABSA and Lawyers at the end of November) They tell you never to start doing things on these houses until registration is done... but when it suites them you must give out money. It's almost end of January and I still don't have any keys to the property, I don't have an Occupation date, I have nothing and between ABSA (who has not once in this whole process contacted me, I keep phoning them) and the lawyers they keep passing the buck. I want answers!!!
