First National Bank
The system say you are declined

Business & Finance

I've been a FNB customer for just over 2 years now. I hold a platinum cheque account and had pay day loans and a micro loan, but yet I'm unable to get a smart phone through FNB. I was told I have a bad credit record, because of a judgement that I can't remove and is currently with the law society to investigate. I recently got a loan from FNB for R45000, which I paid back within two months. I have nothing on my credit that isn't in good standing and I've made 100% sure that I keep my accounts up to date. Most of them are paid in advance. How can FNB give me a R45000 loan, but can't give me a device for R319 per month. My repayments on the loan was R2000 per month. Does this mean that a system that doesn't seems to work dictates who can and who can't get credit? Shouldn't this system deny you credit then on everything and not just on certain things? With a device the bank can at least repossess it if I don't pay, but with a loan they just lending you money and hoping that they will see it again. I feel that if FNB wants to be better, they must look at how things was done in the past and bring back the bank manager, that can assist when the system say you are declined.
