My account has been debited with R89.00/R99.00 for the past 3 or 4 months (at times the transactions would be rejected due to insufficient funds) and as soon as money was available, my account would be debited. I tried to trace the transaction without any luck. I visited my branch on 30/07/2013 to Stop Payment and a very rude and unhelpful Consultant (Mr Revelation Mashiyi) informed me that he can note it down - but because I went and blindly committed myself to a service provider -I'll need to open a new account. I asked that due to the fact that it's an illegal debit order, if they get hold of my new account - would I need to open a new account?!
He went on to say that I read books (I had a novel in my hand) but I still got myself in such a fix. That he was not there when I gave Teletop authorisation to debit my account - I informed him that I was unemployed until recently and would not have any grounds to having my account debited.
What hurt me the most was that he did not seem to care about my problem and my cry for help - I explained from the beginning that the matter screamed ""!!!
He says he can't follow up as he will come back with the same results.
