Hi, I am extremely disgusted with the services of AIG Life Insurance. I have a policy with AIG LIFE SA which I have been paying for over 5 years. I was recently hospitalised and was out of work for nearly 2 weeks. I decided to claim for my hospital plan to help me out financially. In order to claim my money back, they asked me for a whole lot of documentation, which I have supplied them with. That was the 24 July 2013. After no feedback from them, I called them on 29 July, now they tell me that I need to supply them with a Hospital file which costs R200 to get from the hospital. It means another trip to the HOSPITAL WHICH COSTS PETROL. All this hidden charges & expenses is costing me more than what I will be getting paid out. This hospital insurance is a total RIP-OFF as us consumers pay a monthly premium, which is more than the daily payout received. The daily payout as mentioned by the company does not even cover the daily expenses whilst being hospitalised. I have a good mind off cancelling this policy, as it is a total waste of time & money and not feasible to the consumer.
