Vehicle written-off but premiums still being paid

On the 15th of March my car was an accident and was evantually declared as a write-off. It took almost 3 months for the investigations to be completed and my money to be paid out (instead of the 2-3 weeks I was told when I claimed). In the meantime, my monthly premiums were deducted from March, April & May 2013. How do I pay insurance for a vehicle that has been written off. I called in everytime the money was deducted & each time I would be told that my policy was cancelled. If my policy is cancelled, Why am I still paying? Evantually I called the cancellation department & they did not even know that my vehicle was written off. Its as is I am speaking to two different companies. They sent me a confirmation that my policy is cancelled but I am still waiting for a refund. It is now July but no-one from regent has contacted me regarding my refund.
