ABSA taking our money without our consent??

Business & Finance

What would your attitude towards your bank be if they sent you a letter to say that if you don't supply them with documents to prove that your vehicle is financed, they will debit your account with R666.82 TOGETHER WITH YOUR MONTHLY INSTALLMENT? Apparently, this means they will lessen your installment with this amount, so you can't even pick it up from your bank statement - the R666 is hidden in your installment!
So many questions come to mind: WHY can you simply just TAKE money from my account and think its fine because you sent me a letter? How about a phone call (from the personal advisor that we also pay an arm and a leg for each month)? How about an email? How about OPTIONS? O wait... apologies... We do have options... to CHANGE BANKS.
Absa also has an option of changing their name - to GAPSA ('gaps' is the Afrikaans word for '').
No, I don't have a problem with banks that require that you have insurance before they give you the necessary financing, but I DO have a problem with how they went about taking money from my husband's account three months before the last installment will be paid. Where did he give GAPSA permission to determine how long he'll be paying them back?
