Approximately 2 months ago my husband and I opened ourselves a Access Account with Standard Bank as well as a bank account for each of our 3 children. We requested the consultant, Antoinette to set all the deibt card and withdrawel limits at the maximum. (She didn't give us any amounts) The morning that my salary reflected in my account, I tried withdrawing R4000 - I couldn't - I was only allowed R1000). I phoned and complaint, and it was increased via the call centre and cellphone banking to R5000. That same night I went to Pick n Payto buy some groceries. The amount was /- R2500 and my card was declined! Standing there phoning the call centre, having a screaming match with the call centre. I was told that I could only swipe for a maximum of R2000 a day. I was livid. We weren't told this, and seeing that my withdrawel limit was increased earlier that day, tried withdrawing the money. Declined! Even while I had the call centre consultant on the phone, he confirmed that the limit was increased, and I should be able to withdraw the money. Eventually he told me he believed my BRAND NEW CARD was damaged. R2000 limit is pathetic!!! Its my money!! Was at the branch - no help!
