I contacted AB to settle my account at the end of May- was given a settlement discount and I paid the amount owing. As instructed I forwarded all proof of payment through to K Zwane - and thereafter emailed her for a paid up letter and a time frame for when Transunion will be updated. This loan was a thorn in my side and I was in arrears- so you can imagine my elation when I was able to settle and get rid of this debt. I received the paid up letter on the 3/06/2013 and was advised it will take 21 days to update the bureau _ which was a industry norm and I was happy. Unfortunately my joy was shortlived when I received an sms indicating I still owed in excess of R2500 - I realised this was the settlement discount that was not written off. I contacted AB callcentre and they had no clue of my settlement and that I received a paid up letter but I was assured within 48hrs this will all be sorted. Alas 48hrs later - still same response and about an hour later I got through to someone with more than one braincell who advised it will be sorted, but again I am prejudiced because my credit scoring hasn't been updated & I am sure this will take another 21 days! wonder hw much longer for this
