I opened an account on 16 May 2013 with FNB, the consultant that help me that day at the new accounts department gave me really bad service. She to me about the overdraft, I asked her to explain to me how it works and what the interest and instalment will be. She said to me that I will only be paying the amount of R28.50 and nothing more, I asked her again to tell me the truth but she kept to the R28.50. So I asked her to activate the overdraft and only when I saw the true amounts on the documents that I had to sign, asked her not to active the overdraft of which she agreed to do. She did not explain to me all the extra fees involved, only the R97 monthly fee. I went back to the branch on 24 May to collect my card and get feedback on the progress of the debit order switches. No one was able to help me because they could not understand there system. The lady at the new accounts department was so absent minded while she was busy helping me she was also busy helping and talking to other clients, as if I am not important. After all instructions the overdraft was indeed activated, all my debit orders went off on wrong dates and I payed alot of extra fees I was not aware of.
