My husband was applying for a home loan at standard bank, unfortunately he wasn't qualifying for the money that he wanted. He then asked me to take my documents to Standard bank midrand branch so that we can do a joint application. I was assisted by the same consultant that helped him. Her name was Sphiwe. We did the home loan pre approval and then she told me about their cheque acc and advised me open one. I agreed and took a form do that my salary can be deposited to the same acc. She also told me about a funeral cover and I took it. It was close to April pay date so she told me that all debit orders will be switched for me and they will run the following month, May. But to my surprise end of April the funeral cover tried yo debit my acc and it was unsuccessful as I haven't recieved the card. I'm sitting with bank charges of R115 for returned debit order.
I want that acc yo be closed, I will never bank with such a bank. I've applied for a cr card but no feedback at all, I've tried calling the callcentre but still they couldn't help me.
The service is pathetic!!! Plz close that acc and I will not be held liable for those bank charges.
