WRONG ASSUMPTIONS - DO YOUR HOMEWORK FIRST

I purchased a VW Polo from Rola Malmesbury in April. The first installment was due on the 15th of June. Yesterday afternoon I received a threatening sms message from a person called Maggie in the collections department at Wesbank telling me about legal actions is going to be taken against me and that my credit record is going to be affected. Apparently the debit order did not go through. The assumption was immediately made that there was no money in the account. I then phoned VW this morning and asked them what is the problem. Vw Malmesbury told me that the account number on the contract is wrong. The big question now is who is to blame??

Apparently I am the that is blamed by Wesbank for not paying my bill. Should Wesbank have checked my History with them they would have seen that this is my third car that I purchased from them and I never have missed a payment. This will definately be my last car that I will purchase from them. Is this how customer service is nowadays???
