I have recently received a text message from Standardbank informing me that my installments of my Credit card are in arrears. Upon contacting the call centre the agent informed me that I owe an ammount of R76.00 for yearly fee on this card, however no credit overdue . she also advise me that my cards have expired in March 2013. They have already sent cards out in January (which i was unaware of). No one has informed me about the new cards etc.
Now that I would like to make an payment to get the bills up to date she informed me that i first have to go to a Standardbank branch to get the cards activated and then wait for them to send my cards and then upon on collection a can activate them and make an payment. I Have also informed her that I am not happy with this ridicioulous service and that i will terminate my account. She then told me that she could terminate the account over the phone for me and that it will take 3 working days??? I must say this banks customer loyalty amazed me.( Shouldnt you try to revive clients rather than just to let them go??) please get a qualified trained standardbank official to assist me...
