I settled my account with Kagisano back in August 2011. To my surprise a sheriff of the court appeared at my office with a Garnishee order from Jansen and Jansen Attorneys. I contacted the attorneys and indicated that I have no idea as to what was going on and also that the account was settled in full. I was advised that they will pull my file and get back to me. I even sent then a proof of payment, on which I received no reply.
Then a fax was sent to my office stating, I don't owe them a dime, no one had the decency to contact me and apologise. Please note I work in an open plan and everybody can see what is going on at the reception. I have been advised that if I want to have my name cleared from the Credit Bureau / have the judgement reversed I have to contact the Jansen and Jansen Attorneys. My question is, if the error was not on my side then why should I clear something. Also it is defamation of character as I was humiliated and the question is for what? Because the admin was not done correctly and now I have to pay for someone else's incompetence to do their job? Two years and the funny thing is my cell phone number is still the same, yet no one tried to phone me.
