Sanlam deducting even after cancelation

I had an income protection policy with Sanlam, sold to me by intermediary Frikkie Wolfaardt. He sold two policies that would work together to cover my income. My own independant broker approached me and we decided that I would change my income protection from Sanlam to another company. We cancelled the policy by sanlam, but because it was under two policy numbers they only cancelled the one and kept on deducting the premium for a priod of about 7 or 8 months after the cancellation and the start of my new policy which I was now paying for.
