Being a member of Bankmed, I had access to Discovery Vitality and made use of their discounted Virgin Active membership. At the end of 2012, Bankmed and Vitality parted ways and they joined the Momentum Multiply scheme. I decided to take up the offer just prior to Christmas and called the contact centre to complete their application process. Later that day after discussing the options with my wife, we decided not to continue with the membership and I called the same call centre operator (Shawn) back and asked to have the application withdrawn. He obliged and assured me that my new membership was cancelled. A few days later, I received an email welcoming me as a new member and in early January 2013, my bank account was debited with the first premium. I have contacted Shawn twice since then where he assured me that the debit would be reversed ASAP but to date, I am still waiting for this to be done. This is not good business practice.
