CANCELLED BOND FACILITY OF CLIENT

We have been a client of ABSA for nearly 2 decades and in the last few months their service has deteriorated to a point where we are convinced they cannot support our needs any longer. Nearly 6 months ago I applied to have my existing bond extended from R600k to R1.5M. After 3 months and various chasing which included responsible staff moving branches we were eventually informed that ABSA would not give us this facility. They also told us that our facility had reduced from R600k to R450k over the period and that they would not extend the facility back to R600k. We initially accepted this but a month later ABSA entirely removed our bond facility on which we currently owe no money. This was done without any communication with us and although this account is still visible on our bank account the available funds are ZERO. Thus we no longer have any access to our approved bond facility. I have now written emails to the person responsible (Nazeema Devine) but have had absolutely no response over the last two weeks. We will surely close this account and move to another bank which values its clients enough to respond to them and to not unilaterally cancel their bond facility.
