Egypt Ai
Two days without luggage - still searching

Traveling & Tourism

I'm on a business trip to Libya and flew Egypt Air to Tripoli, transiting in Cairo. On arrival, I found that my luggage had not made the trip with me. On reflection, the Egypt Air staff did not inform me whether the suitcase would be checked through to my destination, so there starts the first question mark. I duly registered the lost luggage with a handling company at the airport (it does not seem as if Egypt Air has an office or help desk at the airport) called Shorooq Handling and ground services and was presented with a report. I subsequently found out the WorldTracer system is used for this. It is now two days later, various emails have been sent, various individuals spoken to, I even got my company office in Dubai involved as well as the Radisson Hotel service staff, but Egypt Air is unable to find my luggage. The WorldTracer system continuously reports that "Tracing continues - please check back later", which of course just adds to the frustration. An airline is supposed to engender trust with the customer and provide peace of mind that luggage will turn up where it is supposed to. To leave a customer in the dark for two days, in the same clothes, is absolutely inexcuseable
