Translux/City To City
City to City buses short-changing tall passengers

Traveling & Tourism

I boarded a City to City bus on Saturday 1pm, 14 September, 2013. On looking for a seat on the bus I realized that the leg room of available seats was small (I am 1.85m tall). I even avoided window seats. I then noticed the back seat was empty but had a blanket reserving that seat. I spoke with one of the drivers about the small legroom but he said the back seat was for the drivers to sleep. He asked where i was going and I replied Cape Town (1405km away). He replied to the effect I was in for a rough ride.
If one of the driver's was sleeping I would have understood but none was for it was still in the aftenoon. After two hours of traveling I could feel the cramps coming up. So i went to sit at the empty back seat. But when that official saw that he came and addressed me roughly and loudly asking what he had told me concerning the back seat. I went back to my cramped cabin.
I think they should not be called City to City but Seat to Seat for the seats are pathetically close to each other. Even the gentleman that sat by me was cramped yet he was not even 1.75m tall. City to City buses are indeed short changing tall people and must rectify that.

NB. I have images to the above
