New nr not working

My husband bought me a new phone in december from a mtn shop in kempton park. We were told that the 073 nr has ended and the new range of nr start with 060. I have been battling with phoning mtn call centres since January as well as going to their shops kempton and boksburg. The nr cant be phone from a landline. I think this is pathetic. No one gets back to me, and i just kept on beeing messed around. What cellphone company brings out a nr that they know they have problems with, but cant fix them? My husband spend over R3000 on this phone just to sit with a phone nr that cant receive any landline calls? Pathetic??? I need feedback ASAP, or i am taking this phone back today still? Do not recommend mtn. New nr 060 354 8696.
