Blackberry withdraw it's warranty on product

To whom it may concern,
I have just received a phone call from my service provider informing me that my Blackberry has encountered severe technical damage and that they are unable to replace my phone due to it having a few scratches on the cover. The phone is still well within it's guarantee, however blackberry is stating that they have withdrawn the guarantee on the phone. This is in my opinion unacceptable. The phone is less than a year old, have been giving me much problems. It's the first brand i know of, who would cancel there warranty. If blackberry is trying to restore their perception within the marketplace, i find it hard to believe that they would not look after their current customer base. Loyalty gets established through superior customer service - clearly not what blackberry's priority is at the moment.
