I applied for a Telkom and ADSL line to be installed. No terms and conditions were explained to me, I was not informed of any installations costs and I did not sign any documentation. On receipt of my first account more than R600 was charged for installations costs of which I was not informed. Shortly after the installation of the new line I had to move to another area. I contacted the call centre to cancel the ADSL line and to convert the telephone line to a prepaid line. I was informed that to prevent installation cost I must move the line first. I was advised that I had to move the ADSL line as well and then give notice to cancel the ADSL line and then convert to prepaid. I already cancelled my internet access with Web africa. In the beginning of June I contacted them to cancel the ADSL line and to convert it to a prepaid line with effect from 23/7/2013. I contacted them on 24/7/2013 as the lines were still active and was told that the request was on their system and was promised that the service would be cancelled and be converted to prepaid. I was informed that I would not be charged as the mistake was on their side. To date my lines are still active and I have been billed.
