I moved to Cell C when my previous contract expired confident that I was moving to a better network. I have unfortunately been very disappointed. The quality of the Cell C network is just not up to scratch. Voice calls are reasonable and don't drop much, although you sometimes battle to initiate a call.

My main qualm is with the data network. It is a frequent occurrence to have full 3G signal on your mobile device, but a non functional data connection never the less. I have reported this via twitter on many occasions and invariably the support team wants to know where the problem geographically. The truth of the matter is that it is widespread and not in my capacity to take a note of where I struggle to connect to the data network.

Also related to the data network is the lack of LTE, when all the other networks have rolled this out already. I was expecting to move to a progressive network, but this doesn't seem to be the case.

It is regrettable that i will at this point be porting out again when my contract expires. And having referred and convinced a few friends and colleagues to port, I will be forced to warn against the quality of the Cell C network.
