I took a blackberry contract from Nashua Mobile for my son in 2011 from their store at Vodaworld. In November last, he was having hassles with the phone and i decided to book it in for repair. Imagine my shock when i was told that the phone repairs will take up to 30 working days before it was returned. According to my records, the phone was handed in to them on 19 November (i remember this because it was birthday). i received the phone back on 05 January 2013. and no call or sms to tell me that the phone was ready for collection. I called them myself. i still had to pay for the contract and was not even offered a loan phone.
So the phone was working for a while until he experienced problems again with the trackpad and the network. I booked it in again and was told yet again that this will take up to another 30 working days. adn i was given a little toy phone as a loan.
This is such ridiculous service. The phone is intended for me to keep in touch with my son. Now he won't even use the loan phone.
How is it that a company as big as Nashua Mobile has such a poor turn around time? Surely there is some contravention of the Consumer Protection Act here?
