Virgin Active Northgate Rip-Off

I received an email from virgin active northgate, stating that their fees are going up from R369 to R395 as at February 2014, however when i called in as a new member wanting to join the club the sales rep told me that it would cost me R369 per month for a 1 year contract and the rate will not change. I then asked the sales person, if that is the case why are they ripping off current customers and increasing their fees, and also if i cancel and rejoin will they give me a rate at R369 again and he responded by saying yes. So how the heck is that fair to existing customers who dont call in and are getting ripped off. I then called virgin active bel air and the guy told me that they rate applies to all existing and new members, and they club is much bigger than that of Northgate... I want to remain at R369 as does a new member!!!.. Or explain to me why do i have to pay more than another member!!!
