When I joined Planet Fitness last year I was told by Tariq, the sales consultant that I would be paying R139 for the full 36 months of my contract. He assured me that there would be no increases until after the 36 month period. I specifically asked him whether there would be any increases after a year and he promised me that there would be no increases for the first 36 months.

I now find out that every year, Planet Fitness is entitled to increase my membership fee at will. This is totally unacceptable. Had I known this, I would not have taken out a membership contract with Planet Fitness as I find it ridiculous that a company may take money out of my account at will.

My contract also states that my monthly membership fee will be debited from my account on the 1st of every month. This is not happening. In April, my account was debited twice in one month, on the 5th and 30th. Although the debit on the 30th was for May's fee, it is completely unacceptable that money was taken out BEFORE the agreed 1st on the month. What if I did not have funds available on the 30th? I would then be penalised by my bank for having no funds available.

I am dissatisfied with the response received.
