Spar birthday promotion gone terribly wrong

I won a R1000 voucher from Spar for their birthday celebration and was over the moon as Spar is my favourite store to purchase groceries from.

I visited the Edgemead Spar and tried to purchase groceries. The machines did not want to process the payment using the voucher and the cashiers and managers were clueless about how this voucher should be used. After waiting 30minutes for them, we managed to speak to the owner. He explained that their machines were not accepting the voucher. I told him that I understood this but did not appreciate the bad customer service and knowledge of this promotion from his staff.

His attitude was disgusting! He was very sarcastic and asked me to point out which employees I was referring to so that he could fire them. When I asked for his name he said that he would give it to me but he owned the store and Spar worked for him, not the other way around and suggested that nothing would come of my complaint.

The way he represented Spar's brand is atrocious. All he had to do was apologise about the lack of knowledge and bad customer service and assure me that his staff would be given the correct information. Some sort of action needs to be taken here.
