Debit Card or Cash

On Thursday 10 January 2013 I felt like spoiling myself with a little top. I found one and there was even a 50% off. I browsed around the shop for something else but could not find a size in the clothing that I wanted to purchase. I went to the paypoint quite exited about the top (after having a bad day) to pay. The saleslady told the lady at the cash register that the top is less 50%. I took out my debit card to pay and the lady said to me that she wants cash - I said but I always pay with my debit card and that I do not carry cash with me. She said is on sale and I need to pay cash. I have asked her "but where is the notice saying that when something is on sale please pay cash! " She said there is no notice but the sales lady were suppose to tell me, which she did not. Now I am just wondering with all the going on was it true that sale items must be paid in cash? Well I did not purchase the top and just thought that I shall report this matter. I am still trying to google contact numbers of the Manager of this shop!
