REFUND & REPLACE

Good day

On the 11 04 2013, my flat-mate and I bought 2 x 6Litre packs of the Checkers House Brand full cream milk at Stellenbosch (Eikestad Mall) which was said to only expire on 29 12 2013. We were very dissappointed to find that it was already expired because both the litres that we opened from the 2 separate boxes had already turned into "maas".

We took the milk back to checkers and we were surprised to learn that there had been many complaints about that milk and yet it was still on the shelf. We then asked if we could get our refund and also asked them about the Refund and Replace (RR) policy. We were told by the sales manager that the RR actually means Refund OR Replace. She further went to say the refund means "them taking the product" and then replacing it. This was very patronizing as my flat-mate and I are post-graduate students and not 2 year olds. She said we were the first people to interpret that RR so incorrectly.

We were left with no choice but to buy 2 x 6Litres of another more expensive brand; thereafter we had to pay the difference. This was a total inconvenience, a waste of our university time as well as our money!!
